Frank August 'Case Study: 04 Wood Proofed-Double Oak' Kentucky Straight Bourbon is the fourth release in the brand's acclaimed "CASE STUDY" series, which blends innovation with tradition to craft exceptional American whiskeys. This expression is a combination of double oaked Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (KSBW) and double oaked Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey (KSRW), resulting in the distinctive "4X Oaked" profile. Each batch is proofed in the barrel to 95 proof during maturation, a unique process that adds depth and character to the whiskey. After an additional 12-14 months of aging in a second barrel, the final product is a rich, full-bodied expression that showcases Frank August's dedication to experimental whiskey craftsmanship.
On the nose, the whiskey reveals an intricate blend of sweet vanilla, baking spices, and the sharpness of rye, accented by the warmth of oak. As the aromas evolve, hints of brown sugar, dried fruits, and subtle leather notes emerge, enhancing the already complex bouquet. The palate is equally layered, with the initial burst of caramelized sugars and baked apple giving way to vibrant rye spices. Toasted almonds, buttery toffee, and clove add further depth, while the mid-palate introduces refreshing mint and mild pepper, which contribute to the complexity and balance of the experience.

Returns:
Due to state regulations, ShopBourbon is only able to accept alcohol returns in the event that the product is spoiled. In the event that the bottle sustains major damage during transit, ShopBourbon will refund or replace the product. Shipping:
All shipments require a signature from an adult twenty-one (21) years of age or older per federal law. Couriers will require a proof of ID before delivery. If an adult is unavailable to sign for the package, it may be returned. No exception can be made.
Orders are processed and shipped from the ShopBourbon facility Monday through Friday. Please allow up to three (3) business days to process shipping orders.
Ground shipping times are best estimates, but are not guaranteed by the shipping couriers.
Orders that are refused or returned after three (3) delivery attempts shall be refunded for the value of the product only. Shipping charges are not refundable and returned orders incur a secondary shipping charge to cover the return shipping fee.
Wine and other delicate products may be weather sensitive. Shipment of these items may be delayed at the ShopBourbon team's discretion to prevent heat damage or freezing. ShopBourbon is not responsible for damaged wines due to ground services.
