Hennessy Master Blender's Selection No. 2 is a rare, limited-edition cognac that hails from Cognac, France, crafted under the meticulous guidance of Renaud Fillioux de Gironde, the eighth-generation Master Blender for Hennessy. Created to highlight the individuality of each blend, this expression draws from eaux-de-vie aged a minimum of ten years. It begins its journey in coarse-grained French oak for 18 months, where it develops structure and intensity, before maturing further in seasoned oak to refine its character. Bottled at 43% ABV and presented in a vintage-inspired bottle, each label is hand-signed and numbered, emphasizing its exclusivity.

The nose opens with an elegant balance of white pepper, juicy apricots, and delicate vanilla, giving way to a layered bouquet of warm baking spices. On the palate, it reveals a rich tapestry of clove, nutmeg, and black pepper, softened by the sweetness of lightly toasted oak and hints of dried fruit. The complexity is seamless yet bold, offering a warm, spiced finish that lingers beautifully with each sip.

This cognac is best enjoyed neat to appreciate the full scope of its craftsmanship, though a drop or two of water can open up its layered aromatics. It makes an exceptional after-dinner pour and serves as a connoisseur’s centerpiece for quiet, contemplative evenings.
